What we collect

Information you provide during onboarding (location, household, income band, employment, timeline and goals), documents you upload, questions you ask the AI coach, and how you use the platform. We use it to calculate your mortgage readiness score and provide guidance. Financial data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

We do not sell your personal information

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Service providers we share data with

We use the following providers to operate the platform. They process your data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

  • Clerk — account sign-in and identity.
  • Neon — our application database.
  • Vercel — hosting, and storage of the document files you upload.
  • Pinecone — so the AI coach can answer questions about your documents, text extracted from them is sent to Pinecone, converted into a mathematical representation, and stored there.
  • Anthropic — powers the AI coach. Your questions and your readiness score and sub-scores are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply.
  • Stripe — subscription payments. Card details go to Stripe, not to us.
  • Resend — transactional email.
  • Sentry — error monitoring, so we can diagnose faults.

HUD housing counselors

Qwulifi is not a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. We provide software that HUD-approved counselors — who are independent organizations, not part of Qwulifi — can use to help you. If you choose to work with a counselor:

  • Your readiness score and your uploaded documents are shared only with your explicit, granular consent. You choose what to share, and you can revoke it at any time from your account sharing settings.
  • Your counselor also keeps their own counseling record about you — intake information, session notes and a service plan. That record is part of their counseling file and is visible to them, and to administrators at their agency, without a separate sharing consent. Revoking consent stops them seeing your score and documents; it does not delete their counseling record.

How long we keep your information

If you never work with a counselor, we keep your information until you delete your account.

If you work with a counselor, counseling records are kept even after you delete your account. Our retention policy adopts the standard HUD requires of its approved counseling agencies — a minimum of three years from the closure of your case — so that counseling records remain complete and attributable. Records may currently be kept for longer than that minimum; if you want yours reviewed for disposal, contact us at the address below.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Settings. This deletes your Qwulifi account, your readiness score history, the documents you uploaded, and your payment profile.

It does not delete the counseling records described above. Those are retained under our retention policy, and today they may still contain information that identifies you — such as your name and contact details. If you are a counselor, your counseling records are retained and your account cannot be self-deleted while you are the counselor of record; contact us and we will work with your agency.

Your choices

You can access and correct your information in the app, revoke counselor sharing at any time from your sharing settings, and delete your account from Settings. To ask what we hold about you, or to ask us to delete information, contact us below and we will respond.
